Members of a criminal group operating under the name “Alpha” on Telegram have been detained in Surkhandarya region. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the incident.

According to the ministry, six residents of Denov district who had created a Telegram group called “Alpha,” referred to themselves by that name, and were involved in various sports activities while engaging in street-related conflicts, were stopped from continuing their illegal activities.

The group was led by Sunnatullo Kholmurodov, born in 1998 in Denov district. Other members included his peers Elbek Karimov, Asliddin Ibodov (previously convicted under Article 277 of the Criminal Code for hooliganism), Azamat Davlatov, Javohir Juraev, and Bakhriddin Jumaev, born in 1989 in Denov district.

It was established that on January 6 this year at around 8:50 p.m., the group gathered following a traffic accident involving a Skoda and a Kia vehicle. Since their acquaintance had been driving the Skoda, the group went to the Denov district emergency medical unit with the stated intention of checking on his condition and exerting physical pressure on the driver of the Kia involved in the collision.

Subsequently, the group caused an unprovoked disturbance at the medical facility. The administration demanded that they maintain order on the premises. Despite warnings, the group actively resisted, deliberately disregarded public order, disturbed the peace of patients and medical staff, created a commotion, and assaulted a doctor and another individual present at the facility. One victim was struck in the face and kicked in the abdomen, sustaining bodily injuries.

Suspects Sunnatullo Kholmurodov, Elbek Karimov, Bakhriddin Jumaev, Azamat Davlatov, and Javohir Juraev were detained, and a preventive measure of detention has been applied against them. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 277, Part 3, Clause “g” of the Criminal Code (Hooliganism), and preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.

Individuals who may have suffered as a result of the actions of this criminal group are urged to contact law enforcement agencies or call the emergency number 102.

It is worth noting that earlier, members of a criminal group involved in the illegal trade of precious metals were detained in Tashkent region.
