71-year-old woman killed in her home in Surkhandarya

A 71-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her home in the Surkhandarya region, QALAMPIR.UZ reported.

According to the source, the victim, born in 1954 and residing in the “Buyuk Kelajak” neighborhood of Denov district, sustained four stab wounds to the head. No information about the perpetrator has been released so far.

To clarify the details, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office. He confirmed that on July 1, at approximately 09:40, the woman’s grandson, R.O., who was temporarily staying with her, attempted to wake her. Instead, he discovered the body of his grandmother, G.U., with visible head injuries in her home in the “Buyuk Kelajak” neighborhood.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 97 (Murder) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently underway under the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances and identify the suspect.

Earlier, in the Khojaabad district of Andijan region, a preventive inspector was fatally stabbed during a field call. The suspect, Yunusaly Kholbazorov, fled the scene, and operational search measures are ongoing to locate and apprehend him.
