1815The state unitary enterprise "Clean Area" (Toza Hudud), responsible for household waste transportation services in the Surkhandarya region, has reportedly collected 3.2 billion soums in excess payments. This finding was announced by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.
Investigations into the quality and condition of the waste collection services revealed that the enterprise improperly received funds for services not rendered, amounting to 522.6 million soums for unregulated prices and 2.7 billion soums for services not provided. The total excess income was thus calculated at 3.2 billion soums, resulting from non-compliance with established procedures.
In light of these findings, a case has been initiated against "Clean Area" (Toza Hudud) for potential violations of Article 18 (Prohibition of Abuse of Dominant Position) of the Law "On Competition," Article 21 of the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights," and relevant regulations approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The enterprise has been instructed to recalculate the overcharged amount of more than 3.2 billion soums in favor of consumers.
It is noteworthy that a similar issue was previously identified with the "Clean Area" (Toza Hudud) branch in Syrdarya, which also charged excessive fees.
