One Uzbek militant was killed after unknown armed men opened fire directly at him inside his car in the town of Al-Fu’a, near the Syrian city of Idlib. Syriahr reported this.

According to reports, the militant had previously fought in the “Red Bands” unit affiliated with the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham group. Following the incident, security measures were tightened in the area. Relevant authorities began inspections and information-gathering operations while also launching an inquiry to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify the attackers.

“This operation took place at a time when assassinations and armed attacks are continuing in various parts of northwestern Syria, which indicates that security control remains weak in some areas,” the report said.

Earlier, it was reported that Syrian security forces had detained a group of Uzbek fighters during a raid in the northwest of the country.
