Surayyo Rahmanova’s candidacy for the position of Children's Ombudsman is approved

Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis have unanimously approved Surayyo Rahmanova's candidacy for the position of Child Rights Representative (Ombudsman). This decision was made during the general meeting held on October 10.
Surayyo Rahmanova received majority support from the deputies, and her candidacy now awaits approval from the Senate.
For information, Surayyo Rahmanova was born in Tashkent in 1978. She earned her bachelor's degree in 2000 and her master's degree in 2002 from Tashkent State Law University. In 2015, she was awarded the title of associate professor, and in 2018, she earned a Doctor of Legal Sciences degree.
Prior to her appointment, Surayyo Rahmanova held various key positions, including as the head of the Public Relations and Legal Information Service at the General Prosecutor's Office in 2018, as the head of the Agency of Information and Mass Communication in 2019, and, as of 2022, in the Public Relations Department of the Senate.
As a reminder, last month, the previous Children's Rights Ombudsman, Aliya Yunusova Tuygunovna, concluded her term of service.
