The cold anticyclone flow that entered the republic on 9 November brought the energy system to a standstill.  Uzgidromet expert Erkin Abulahatov reported on this.

A letter from the director of the National Dispatch Unitary Enterprise under the Ministry of Energy has been circulated on social networks, instructing him to switch off and restart power outages in places from time to time.

"In such a situation, it is natural that the obligations of the Ministry of Energy and its regional units include warning consumers about disconnections in advance.  At the moment, they will not be conveyed to consumers. This is impossible.  As usual, in such a situation, our consumers "forgive" the system again.  In fact, in the obligations of energy companies to supply electricity to the consumer, they are obliged to give a warning before disconnecting the electricity from the network, and naturally, in the current situation, millions of consumers have the right to sue the electric company", says Erkin Abdulahatov, expert of Ozgidromet.

He also stated that a temperature drop of 4-5 degrees below the climatic norm is not an anomalous cold indicator, and the concept of anomalous cold in meteorological and legal documents refers to a temperature below 8 degrees below the climatic norm.

"Yes, the cold anticyclone, which made the temperature 4-5 degrees colder than the climatic norm, showed how our energy system was prepared for the autumn-winter season.  "According to a poll conducted on social networks, 83% of the republic's population confirmed that the gas pressure has decreased in places and there have been interruptions in the electricity networks," said Abdulahatov.

According to him, from today the anticyclone will move to the east and completely withdraw from the republic.  Night and day temperatures will rise, and day temperatures will gradually return to climatic norms.

"Our current energy system is not ready for the anomalous cold of the winter season.  During this departure, small blackouts will also be observed from time to time," said the expert.
