Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif praised President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his leadership in transforming the country, stating that he had "rebuilt society." He made these remarks on February 26 during a media statement.

"From the very first days of your presidency, you have transformed Uzbekistan. You have rebuilt society. If I am not mistaken, in 2016, the poverty rate in Uzbekistan was 42 percent, and trade levels were low. Today, the poverty rate has dropped to 8 percent, and investments have reached $30 billion. Isn't that a miracle in itself?" said Sharif.

He emphasized that such achievements are not the result of mere rhetoric but of "clear vision, dynamic leadership, tireless work, and a bold pursuit of a single goal," adding that he saw these qualities in President Mirziyoyev.

Sharif's remarks came during his official visit to Uzbekistan, which began on February 25 at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev. On February 26, a formal welcoming ceremony took place at the International Congress Center in Tashkent. The leaders held talks in a narrow format and later with their respective delegations.

Following the discussions, Mirziyoyev and Sharif signed a Joint Declaration aimed at strengthening Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation and a protocol to establish a High-Level Strategic Partnership Council. They also addressed media representatives before Sharif attended the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum.

The visit concluded on February 26, with Sharif being seen off at Tashkent International Airport by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials.
