Individuals involved in the trafficking of narcotic substances in Syrdarya and Tashkent regions have been detained. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the report, a Gentra vehicle driven by a previously convicted individual born in 2002 was stopped in Gulistan city. During the inspection, information related to potent pharmaceutical drugs was found on the driver’s mobile phone.
As a result of investigative operations, it was established that since December 2025 the suspect had been operating simultaneously as a “stash distributor” and a “chemist” via Telegram channels and had set up a drug laboratory in Gulistan.
At the location, law enforcement officers seized 2.787 kilograms of pregabalin with an estimated retail value of 1.8 billion sums, 1,900 pregabalin capsules, 150 units and one liter of tropicamide, as well as various tools used to manufacture these substances. All items were documented as physical evidence.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal circulation of potent substances that are not classified as narcotic or psychotropic drugs), and investigative actions are currently underway.
In a separate operation conducted by the Tashkent Regional Department of the State Security Service together with the regional Interior Affairs Department, three residents of Tashkent city born in 1983, 1988, and 1998 were detained while selling 36 units of the potent drug Regapen to an undercover buyer for 3 million sums. An additional 108 units of Regapen and 89 units of Zardex were seized from a Spark vehicle belonging to the suspects.
Further searches revealed that one of the suspects had been storing 7,784 units of Regapen and 200 units of Zardex in a rented apartment in the Yunusabad district for future sale.
Preliminary investigations determined that the drugs had been supplied by a resident of Kokand born in 1994. He was detained while transporting 5,000 units of the potent drug Zardex, which had been smuggled from the Kyrgyz Republic, to the capital.
As a result of the operations, the illegal circulation of a total of 13,217 units of potent pharmaceutical drugs was prevented.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the suspects under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code, and detention has been imposed as a preventive measure.
Earlier, a person attempting to bring potent pharmaceutical drugs worth 1.3 billion sums into Fergana region was also detained.
