Deputy governor and farmers in Syrdarya, Tashkent, and Fergana was caught in bribery scandals

The Deputy Governor of Syrdarya and farm managers in the Tashkent and Fergana regions were caught accepting bribes, according to the State Security Service.

The Deputy Governor of Saykhunobod District in Syrdarya, responsible for agriculture and water management, allegedly demanded $25,000 from an entrepreneur to lease land: $20,000 for 6 hectares in Sardoba District and $5,000 for 50 acres of land managed by the Regional Forestry Department in Saykhunobod. The official was apprehended with the money in hand.

In a separate case, a farm manager in Qibray District, Tashkent, agreed to sell 7 hectares of land, including 3.37 hectares of farm land and additional unlawfully occupied land, for $2 million, receiving $200,000 upfront. He was caught during the transaction.

Furthermore, a previously convicted individual from Yangiyol District, born in 1975, facilitated the transfer of 2 hectares meant for a greenhouse to an LLC in his son's name, in exchange for $500,000. He also sold a building and land in Yangiyol for $440,000 and obtained permits for a 12-story building for a total of $940,000. He was caught with $400,000 of the bribe.

Additionally, a person born in 1987 from Yangiyol fraudulently secured 13.05 hectares of land in Quyi Chirchiq District, listed for sale on the "E-Auction" portal, by demanding $260,000 and receiving $130,000 in advance. He was also caught.

Lastly, a farm head in Quva District, Fergana, agreed to sell 5.5 hectares allocated for cotton and grain production for $150,000 and demanded an additional $40,000 for registration, totaling $190,000. He was apprehended with $120,000.

Criminal cases have been initiated, and investigations are ongoing.
