Xi Jinping will visit Central Asia

President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will visit Kazakhstan at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was announced by the press service of the "Oqo`rda".

It is noted that the Chinese leader will be in Kazakhstan from June 16 to 17. During the visit, a high-level bilateral meeting is scheduled, where both sides will discuss ways to further deepen the Kazakhstan–China comprehensive strategic partnership.

In addition, the second Central Asia–China summit will take place in Astana on June 17, with the participation of the leaders of the Central Asian countries.

For reference, the first summit in this format was held in the Chinese city of Xi’an in 2023.

Xi Jinping's last visit to Kazakhstan took place in July of last year. At that time, a bilateral meeting was held in Astana between the presidents of Kazakhstan and China. During the visit, Tokayev and Xi Jinping also launched cultural centers in both countries. After the talks, the two leaders signed a joint statement and held a briefing for media representatives.
