Italian veteran coach Claudio Ranieri, 73, is reportedly in discussions to take the helm at Roma for a third time. Italian media outlets report that Ranieri is currently in London negotiating with Roma’s owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, with a potential contract lasting until the summer of 2025.

Ranieri previously managed Roma from 2009 to 2011 and then returned briefly in 2019. Although he announced his retirement from coaching after his recent tenure with Cagliari, he seems ready to return to the sidelines only five months later. Notably, Ranieri and Eldor Shomurodov, an Uzbek forward, worked together at Cagliari, adding a familiar dynamic to the potential appointment.

Roma had also considered Vincenzo Montella, but negotiations reportedly fell through due to high financial demands from Montella's coaching staff and the compensation required for his contract with the Turkish national team.
