The Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir has entered negotiations with representatives of Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov. This was reported by well-known Turkish football journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

According to the Turkish outlet *Gazete Arena*, an agreement has already been reached on the transfer. The report states that Shomurodov will play in the Turkish Super League during the 2025–2026 season.

While Turkey’s “big four” clubs—Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor—have made offers to several star players to strengthen their attacking lineups, Basaksehir is said to have won the race for the Uzbek forward.

Istanbul Basaksehir is a club known for its close ties to Turkish political circles and enjoys strong backing from local authorities. Despite this, the team finished in fifth place in the Turkish Super League this season.

Roma, Shomurodov’s current club, appears ready to part ways with the 29-year-old striker, even though his contract runs until the summer of 2026. Last season, he played 37 matches in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. According to "Transfermarkt", his market value is estimated at 4 million euros.

It is worth noting that the French publication L’Équipe previously reported that Shomurodov had received an offer from a club in the US Major League Soccer (MLS).
