On December 18, the 1/8 finals of the Italian Cup saw Roma take on Sampdoria in a commanding 4-1 victory at home.

The match was marked by the return of Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov to the scoresheet. The 29-year-old forward entered the field in the 78th minute and, just a minute later, made a decisive impact by heading the ball into the opponent's net.

This goal sealed a dominant win for Roma and brought an end to Shomurodov's four-month goalless streak. His last goal for the team was scored back in August against Empoli during the Italian championship.

In another 1/8 finals match, Serie A leaders Atalanta crushed Cesena with an emphatic 6-1 victory, further solidifying their strong form in the competition.
