Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov is close to joining "Venezia" FC on loan, according to reports from Italian media.
At the request of "Venezia"’s head coach, Eusebio Di Francesco, negotiations have progressed, and a verbal agreement has been reached for the Uzbek striker’s loan transfer.
Currently, "AS Roma" and "Venezia" are exploring a potential player exchange deal. As part of the agreement, "Venezia"’s Finnish striker Yoel Pohjanpalo is expected to move to "Roma", while Shomurodov will head to "Venezia".
Shomurodov, 29, has made 16 appearances for "Roma" this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Meanwhile, 30-year-old Pohjanpalo has found the net six times in 20 matches in the Italian league.
Should the deal go through, Shomurodov will have the opportunity to secure more regular playing time under Di Francesco at "Venezia".
