On April 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Javokhir Sindarov, the winner of the Candidates Tournament organized by the FIDE, the presidential press service reported.
According to the report, the head of state warmly congratulated the young grandmaster on achieving a historic victory by winning this prestigious competition for the first time in Uzbekistan’s chess history.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that Javokhir Sindarov reached an unprecedented milestone in the tournament, noting that his six wins in 14 games represent a rare achievement in the world of sports.
The president noted that the young grandmaster demonstrated great courage and skill in every match against some of the world’s most renowned chess players, displaying strong willpower, high intellectual capacity, and determination.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also highlighted that Javokhir Sindarov now faces a decisive and honorable match for the world title, wishing him further success, strength, and new victories in the upcoming games.
It was also noted that Sindarov’s participation in the 46th Chess Olympiad, scheduled to be held this year in Samarkand, will undoubtedly boost the team’s morale and confidence.
Taking the opportunity, the head of state also extended sincere congratulations to Javokhir Sindarov’s parents, relatives, and coaches on this historic achievement.
In response, Javokhir Sindarov expressed deep gratitude to the president for the high recognition, warm congratulations, and expressed trust.
It is worth noting that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had previously spoken with Javokhir Sindarov by phone to congratulate him on winning the Chess World Cup.
