Amendments to the Urban Development Code are expected

At the meeting of the faction of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the bill on amendments to the Urban Development Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan was considered.  This was reported by the press service of the lower house of the parliament.

According to him, in recent times, the local state authorities have taken decisions on construction permits, reconstruction, and construction of temporary buildings in many cases contrary to the administrative procedures in the field of construction.

There are also cases of allocating land in a manner inconsistent with the law.  The need to eliminate contradictions and conflicts in regulatory and legal documents and to ensure the practice of law enforcement requires amendments to the Urban Development Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“With this document, certain powers of local executive authorities related to the construction industry, which are not specific to them, will be terminated.  Adoption of the draft law serves to eliminate the existing problems observed in practice in the provision of state services in the field of architecture and construction, contradictions in normative and legal documents and excessive bureaucratic procedures,” the report says.
