An Uzbek citizen who had fallen into a difficult financial situation in Serbia was returned home with the assistance of Uzbekistan’s embassy and the Migration Agency, the Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the report, Uzbek citizen T.Z. appealed to the consular department of the embassy and asked for assistance in returning home from Serbia.

The citizen said the situation arose after an employer in Serbia failed to properly fulfill its obligations, particularly by not complying with the terms of the agreement on preparing the necessary documents. As a result, the Uzbek citizen found himself in a difficult financial situation and was unable to return to Uzbekistan independently.

The embassy then quickly established cooperation with Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency. Following the efforts, a free air ticket was purchased for the applicant using funds from the Fund for Support of Citizens Working Abroad and Protection of Their Rights and Interests.

Earlier, Uzbek citizen V.A., a native of Urgut district in Samarkand region who had suffered from a serious illness and undergone long-term treatment in Belgium, was successfully returned to his homeland.
