Senator Bakhtiyar Saifullayev died

Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev, the chairman of the Youth, Culture and Sports Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has died at the age of 72.

This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev is a cultural figure, political and statesman of Uzbekistan, doctor of pedagogic sciences (1987), professor (2012).  He was born on 1 April 1951 in Tashkent.  In 1972, he graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Theater and Fine Arts.

Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev, who started his career in 1972 as an actor and director of the Republican Theater of Young Audiences, later served as the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.  He worked as the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan during 2017-2020.

Also, Sayfullayev was awarded the titles of Honored Culture Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2000), Honored Culture Worker of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2008).
