The Senate's size is diminishing from 100 to 65, and the Legislative Chamber's deputy speakers are decreasing from 7 to 2. These adjustments were deliberated during the 49th plenary session of the Senate.

The session also addressed the law "On amendments and additions to certain legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the activities of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the new version of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

It is highlighted that laws governing the Oliy Majlis chambers are aligning with the newly revised Constitution.

Notably, the overlapping powers of parliamentary chambers are being clarified, with Senate members decreasing from 100 to 65. It is specified that 4 senators will be elected from each administrative-territorial unit, and 9 will be appointed by the President.

Deputy speakers of the Legislative Chamber are reduced from 7 to 2, and it's stipulated that Speaker's deputies cannot be faction members or maintain political party membership during their term. The power of self-dissolution for the Legislative Chamber and the Senate is introduced, with new elections for the Legislative Chamber within 2 months and the Senate's new composition formed within 1 month.

These regulations, determining Senate members, committee names, and the Legislative Chamber Speaker's deputies' number and status, will take effect at the start of the next convocation in 2024.

Following the discussion, the senators approved this law.
