News spread on social networks that a Qari from Samarkand won the first place in the Qur'an competition held in Saudi Arabia and received the grand prize of 800,000 US dollars. The Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan has issued an official response to this situation.

It is noted that this information is baseless, and some social network operators are trying to mislead the general public by spreading fake news.

Upon thorough examination, it has been revealed that on April 7 of this year, the Quran and Azan competition was indeed held in Saudi Arabia, and the first-place winner in the recitation category was Yunus Shahmorodi, a citizen of Iran. Additionally, the widely circulated video showing the recitation of the Qur'an has been confirmed to belong to this Iranian individual.

It is essential to highlight that sharing baseless, false, and untrue news, and misleading people from the real situation, is a grave sin in Islam and can lead to legal consequences under the current legislation.

"We emphasize the importance of being more vigilant when spreading any messages on social networks and urge the public to pay great attention to the accuracy, reliability, and official source of the information," the report says.
