A calligrapher from Samarkand, Abdujalil Ergashev, wrote a large book of the Koran in the size of 60×80.  This is reported by the press service under the Samarkand Regional Department of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that the calligrapher managed to write the Koran of 310 lists, 620 pages in Arabic Kufic script in three years.

“Samarkand paper is famous for its durability, the ability to write on both sides and the fact that it does not decompose in water.  That’s why I used this paper for the pages of the book» - the calligrapher said.

For reference, one of the largest and most ancient copies of the Koran—« Musfah of Usman » is kept in Uzbekistan, in the madrasah «Muyi Muborak».
