Pedestrian dies in an accident in Samarkand

A pedestrian tragically died in a traffic accident in the Ishtikhon district of the Samarkand region on October 21, 2024. According to the regional Road Traffic Safety Information Service, the incident occurred when a Cobalt car struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street at an unmarked location on the highway within the territory of the "Azamat" neighborhood.
The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
In response to the incident, a discussion meeting on accident prevention was held in the neighborhood, attended by local officials and residents.
This incident follows another tragic event on October 16, when a 7th-grade student in the Bulungur district lost control of a "Jiguli" car, resulting in the vehicle overturning into a ditch. The student was hospitalized but succumbed to injuries the following day.
