Law enforcement authorities in Samarkand Region have prevented an attempted contract killing. The regional Department of Internal Affairs reported the incident.

According to оператив intelligence, a person born in 2002 was found to be searching for a hired killer with the intent to murder an acquaintance residing in Tashkent due to a personal dispute between them.

Following this information, a special operation was launched, during which an undercover operative posing as a contract killer was involved. The suspect instructed the undercover “hitman” to kill the person with whom he had a conflict and promised to pay $2,200 for the act.

On January 27 this year, during the operation carried out in Samarkand, the 24-year-old suspect was detained while handing over $2,000 in cash after receiving a staged photograph of the allegedly murdered victim. He was apprehended with material evidence at the scene.

Further investigative actions revealed that the detained individual had acted on the orders of his relative, born in 1996, who is the head of a limited liability company and resides in Tashkent. The investigation established that the alleged organizer had longstanding conflicts with the intended victim and owed him a large sum of money. This individual was also detained.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 25 in conjunction with Article 97, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which pertains to attempted intentional homicide.

For reference, earlier in Tashkent, an intoxicated man fatally stabbed his companion during a joint drinking session.
