Drunk man kills drinking companion during New Year celebrations (video)

In Tashkent, a man under the influence of alcohol stabbed and killed a companion with whom he had been drinking. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs reported the incident.

According to the report, the incident occurred in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent. The suspect, who had already been held administratively liable eight times in 2025 alone for alcohol-related offenses, consumed excessive amounts of alcohol with his drinking companion on the eve of the New Year celebrations. A conflict broke out between them, during which the man fatally stabbed his companion.

The Department of Internal Affairs noted that the suspect had also served a five-day administrative detention sentence last year.

Following the incident, the prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide). A preventive measure of detention has been applied to the suspect.

It is worth noting that on November 29 last year, women who caused public disturbances while intoxicated and resisted law enforcement officers were also punished.
