A man who killed a guard in Samarkand was sentenced to 15 years in prison

A 34-year-old man, born in 1989, who killed a construction site guard in Samarkand was sentenced to 15 years in prison, as reported by the press secretary of the Supreme Court.
In July 2023, the perpetrator, while intoxicated, engaged in a dispute with the guard after consuming alcohol together. Subsequently, the inebriated man assaulted and killed the guard before fleeing the scene. The guard's body remained undiscovered for several days until children playing nearby reported it on July 15, 2023.
Prompt investigations revealed the victim's identity and led to the arrest of the assailant, captured on surveillance cameras, on July 16. The court found the man guilty of intentional murder (Article 97, part 2, clauses "v" and "j"), resulting in a 15-year prison sentence.
