Mining farm illegally consumes nearly 30 billion soums of electricity in Samarkand

3677Authorities in the Samarkand region uncovered a mining farm that illegally consumed 28.8 billion soums of electricity. This was reported by "Uzenergoinspeksiya."
The discovery was made during a joint operation conducted by "Uzenergoinspeksiya," the Samarkand regional territorial administration, the Cybersecurity Center of the Rapid Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the regional prosecutor's office.
Investigators found 89 mining devices with a combined power capacity of 244.4 kW connected illegally to an electricity meter in the basement of a building owned by the "M.G.M." family enterprise in the Ishtikhon district.
Preliminary estimates revealed that this illegal operation resulted in the theft of 28 billion 896 million soums worth of electricity. Relevant documents have been prepared for further legal action in cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
It should be noted that earlier, a similar mining farm in the Toylok district of the Samarkand region was exposed for illegally consuming 5.5 billion soums of electricity.
