23579Reports from the Oliy Sud's press service detail how the woman, in Samarkand, bound her husband's limbs, doused them in gasoline, and set them ablaze. The victim was intoxicated at the time.
It turned out that the man was living with this woman on the basis of Sharia marriage. Mother of the married man with children found out about the relationship with this woman after the incident.
"He encountered this woman after his wife and child relocated to Russia. We are unsure of the extent of their contact. He was burned beyond recognition, his extremities restrained. I pleaded for the harshest punishment. It's inhumane," voiced the deceased's mother.
Court records reveal frequent disputes between the couple, often stemming from financial strain and jealousy, as the deceased failed to provide financial support and accused his wife of infidelity.
The accused claimed self-defense, alleging that her husband had assaulted her and threatened her son prior to the tragic event. Subsequently, he procured alcohol and gasoline, leading to the fatal outcome.
"I used only 1.5 liters of gasoline and initiated the fire," the defendant admitted.
Prior to this incident, the defendant had served time for assaulting a female relative.
The court sentenced the accused, under Article 97 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code, Part 2, to 12 years in prison.
