Cases of fraud related to promises of sending citizens to work abroad have been uncovered in the Samarkand and Andijan regions, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
According to the department, a pre-investigation inquiry conducted by the Koshrabot district branch revealed that M.J., the head of ’’A’’ LLC, deceived eight citizens by promising to send them to work in the United Kingdom. He fraudulently obtained a total of $12,000 from them and used the money for personal needs.
In a separate operation carried out in the Andijan region, J.A. was caught red-handed after gaining the trust of citizen Kh.A. and taking $1,300 in exchange for allegedly arranging employment in Germany with the help of his acquaintances.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are underway.
It is worth noting that earlier, similar incidents were reported in Namangan city, where individuals promising jobs abroad were also detained.
