Samarkand airport will be closed again

Due to technical reasons, Samarkand International Airport will be closed from 8 November at 00:01 a.m., to 12 November at 00:01 a.m.

This was reported on the AviaAlertsUZ telegram channel.

The reason for this is that the summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Samarkand on 11 November.

On the eve of the meeting of the heads of state and government of the member countries of the organization, the meetings of the ministers of economy and foreign affairs will be held.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan are members of the organization. Hungary and Turkmenistan also have observer status.

We remind you that the Samarkand International Airport was closed for commercial passenger and cargo traffic between14-16 September due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
