16029On September 26, during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the meeting, Saidov emphasized the importance of countries adhering to the principle of non-interference in each other's internal affairs, as noted on his Telegram channel.
"To strengthen mutual trust, the importance of adhering to the principle of non-interference in each other's internal affairs was emphasized. We agreed to continue our constant dialogue in the spirit of alliance," said Saidov.
The ministers also engaged in a detailed discussion regarding current topics of strategic partnership and the preparation for future high-level events. The cooperation agenda remains broad, covering various spheres.
The Russian Foreign Ministry's statement at the meeting highlighted the need to combat manifestations of inter-ethnic intolerance.
This meeting comes in the wake of a reported incident where a teacher beat a student during a Russian language lesson at school 188 in the Chilonzor district of Tashkent. Following this, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow had requested an official explanation from Uzbekistan regarding the incident, keeping the issue "in the center of attention."
In response to these developments, Alisher Kadyrov remarked, "It would be correct if they were busy with their affairs, which are full of problems, rather than confusing us with our internal matters." Sherzodkhan Qudrathoja, the Rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, expressed his disapproval of outside interference in Uzbekistan's internal affairs. Otabek Hasanov, head of the Republican Spirituality and Enlightenment Center, asserted that there is no need for "opinions" and "guides" from external sources.
Amid these events, the Russian Foreign Ministry made a presentation to the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Moscow, Botirjon Asadov.
