Ruslan Nuriddinov becomes a two-time world champion

The World Weightlifting Championship is currently being held in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.  Ruslan Nuriddinov defended the honor of Uzbekistan in the -109 kg weight of the competition.

Nuriddinov won the gold medal in 3 directions in his weight class with 177 kg in deadlift, 220 kg in deadlift and 397 kg in total.  This result is the second world championship of the athlete from Uzbekistan.  At the World Cup in Colombia, Nuriddinov surpassed his nearest competitor by 8 kg.

Men -109 kg:

1.    Ruslan Nuridinov (Uzbekistan) – 397 (177+220) kg;

2.    Giorgi Chkheidze (Georgia) – 389 (170+219) kg;


3.    Rafael Castillo (Colombia) – 388 (174+214) kg.
