8031In Saudi Arabia, undertaking Hajj with a tourist visa, Umrah visa, or other types of visas is prohibited, as reported by the Committee on Religious Affairs.
The Saudi government has implemented rigorous measures to ensure order and deter violations during the 2024 Hajj season.
Citizens entering Saudi Arabia with tourist visas, Umrah visas, business visas, or other types of visas must exit the country before the visa expiry date. Performing Hajj with a tourist visa, Umrah visa, or any other visa is strictly prohibited and deemed unlawful.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has notified foreign pilgrims and residents about the legal consequences of participating in Hajj without proper authorization during the 2024 Hajj season.
The Saudi legislation prescribes severe penalties for violating visa regulations, including overstaying the visa period or performing Hajj with a non-Hajj visa. Offenders may face deportation for up to 10 years, a 6-month imprisonment, and a fine of 50,000 Saudi Riyals (equivalent to $13,400 USD). This penalty applies to pilgrims, individuals, travel agencies, and organizations involved in such violations.
It's worth noting that travel agencies found misleading citizens during Umrah trips will be temporarily shut down, as previously announced.
