Starting June 30 of this year, foreign citizens—including Uzbek nationals—traveling visa‑free to Russia must register in advance using the “Gosuslugi RuID” mobile application and obtain a QR code. This advisory was issued by the Consular Department of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia.

According to the announcement, the QR code will be required to be presented at the border crossing. To complete the registration, travelers need to:

  • Create a personal account within the mobile application;
  • Upload their photograph and personal details;
  • Specify the intended duration of their stay in Russia.

It is mandatory that the application be submitted at least 72 hours before the planned departure. However, if an urgent situation arises—such as a severe illness or the death of a close relative—the application may be submitted as late as four hours before departure.

The following categories are exempt from this registration requirement:

  • Citizens of Belarus;
  • Children up to the age of 6;
  • Individuals who already possess a visa, temporary, or permanent residence permit in Russia.

For children between the ages of 6 and 18, the application must be submitted by their parents or legal representatives, who are also required to have a personal registration code.

In addition, it was noted that beginning May 1 of this year, measures could be implemented to deport those who have not regularized their legal status in Russia and to ban them from future entry. Subsequently, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the deadline for regulating the status or planning departure for foreign citizens and stateless persons has been extended until September 10 this year.
