The Council of Ulama of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Russian Federation has issued a new fatwa concerning delivery and logistics workers, prohibiting the transport of meat from animals not slaughtered according to Islamic law. This was reported by the administration’s press service.

According to the fatwa, couriers are forbidden from delivering alcoholic beverages, pork, meat from any animal not slaughtered according to Sharia law, idols, and products related to gambling.

Under the new rules, if such items are delivered for destruction and the courier is unaware of the contents of the package, this is not considered a violation.

The list of permitted items for delivery includes food products, meat from animals slaughtered according to halal standards, grains, butter, milk, fruits, vegetables, and other household goods, including clothing, furniture, kitchenware, construction materials, electronics, books, medicines, and medical equipment.

Additionally, if an order contains both permitted and prohibited items, it is recommended that a portion of the delivery income be donated to charity to ’’halalize’’ the transaction.

’’If it is impossible to know the contents of an order, the act of delivering it is not considered impermissible. The rule is only violated if prohibited items are knowingly delivered,’’ the administration added.

It is worth noting that earlier in Moscow, Russia, an Uzbek courier named Muhammadjon Obidov stopped a person attempting to abduct a baby.
