Fatal crash in Russia claims lives of 5 uzbeks

10335On December 17, five Uzbek citizens tragically lost their lives in a road accident in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia. This was confirmed by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan.
The accident occurred at 05:10 AM on the 209th kilometer of the R-178 federal highway, which runs through the Saransk-Surskoye-Ulyanovsk route. According to the report, the victims were identified as A.A. (born 1977), J.I. (born 1988), K.S. (born 1975), K.A. (born 2004), and B.O. (born 1977).
The Ulyanovsk Regional Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided with a moving MAZ truck.
“The Consulate General has taken control of the situation. Coordination with the relevant authorities is ongoing, and efforts are being made to repatriate the bodies of the deceased,” the report stated.
This follows another fatal accident involving Uzbek nationals in the Kalinin district of St. Petersburg, Russia, where one of the injured later died in the hospital.
