Another Uzbek worker dies at construction site in Russia

6576On January 25, around 11:30 p.m., a 42-year-old Uzbek citizen, employed as a metal structure assembler, tragically fell from a height of about 30 meters at a construction site in the Krakole quarter near the village of Ust-Luga, Kingisepp district, Leningrad region, Russia. The incident was reported by Megapolis.
Although the man was alive following the fall, he was later declared dead upon arrival at the emergency department of the Kingisepp interdistrict hospital.
The local investigation department has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers violations of safety regulations in construction work that result in death by negligence.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the tragedy occurred during the installation of an overpass at a factory under construction. It is believed that the contractor supervising the work violated safety rules.
Several examinations have been ordered as part of the investigation, although authorities have not yet disclosed who is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
This incident follows the death of another Uzbek worker in St. Petersburg, Russia, who fell from the 16th floor of a construction site on January 13. The worker was involved in constructing a residential complex.
