12594In Russia’s Moscow region, an Uzbek man saved an 11-month-old girl who was lying on the road, narrowly preventing her from being run over by passing cars. The incident was reported by REN TV.
Initially, the man mistook the object on the road for a rabbit or a cat and attempted to swerve around it. However, as he got closer, he realized it was a baby lying on the ground.
“She was crying loudly. The child was freezing—her fingers, her face—everything was ice cold,” the rescuer recounted.
He immediately turned on his car heater to warm the baby’s hands before calling the police and an ambulance. As he waited, a woman approached and claimed to be the child’s grandmother. However, the driver, skeptical of her identity, chose to wait for law enforcement and medical personnel. Later, it was confirmed that the woman was indeed a relative of the girl and had recently completed treatment in a psychiatric ward.
The infant, who had suffered first-degree frostbite, is now receiving outpatient treatment at home. The girl's parents offered the driver money as a token of gratitude for saving their child, but he refused, instead urging them to use the funds for the baby's medical care.
It is worth noting that last year, an Uzbek migrant living in St. Petersburg for seven years and working as a cleaner was hailed as a hero after rescuing several women from a fire. Following his brave act, local residents raised 36,000 rubles for him. In particular, members of the "Chernyy Spisok Peter" group contributed 11,000 rubles, while an additional 25,000 rubles were collected by residents of Kolomna, a historic district near the site of the fire.
