Uzbek man arrested in Russia with 15 kg of hashish (video)

An Uzbek man was arrested in the Kirov district of St. Petersburg, Russia, after being found with 15 kg of hashish, according to a report by "78.ru."

The incident occurred at the 42nd kilometer of the "Kola" highway when a CHERY TIGGO vehicle was stopped for a routine inspection. The 31-year-old Uzbek citizen, residing in St. Petersburg, was behind the wheel. Police became suspicious when the driver appeared visibly nervous during their conversation, prompting a more thorough search of both the driver and the vehicle. Narcotics were discovered in the trunk.

The driver admitted to working as a drug courier. The confiscated drugs, weighing nearly 15 kilograms, were sent for further examination.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 30, Item "g" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, concerning the illegal production, sale, or transport of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogues. The suspect has been detained.

Authorities are currently investigating the delivery routes of the illicit substances and working to identify others involved in the crime.

It is also important to note that a previous case involved the detention of an Uzbek national in Russia for the sale of large quantities of narcotic drugs.
