A court in the Kaliningrad region of Russia has sentenced two Uzbeks to death for the brutal killing of three people, as reported by Interfax.

The incident occurred in December 2022, when the two Uzbeks attempted to rob a resident of the village of Nevskoye, located in the Guryev district of Kaliningrad. The pair entered the victim's home under the guise of assisting him with his migration documents.

During the robbery, one of the Uzbeks fatally stabbed the 58-year-old homeowner, along with his 81-year-old mother and a 55-year-old guest who was present at the time. The assailants stole 65,000 rubles and fled the scene.

Following the investigation, the court found the two men guilty under Article 162, Part 4, Clause “v” (invasion) and Article 105, Clauses “a” and “z” (intentional killing of up to three people during an invasion) of the Russian Criminal Code.

One of the defendants received a 23-year prison sentence, while the other was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony.

In related news, two other Uzbeks, previously convicted of raping a journalist in Russia, were sentenced to prison. Two defendants were handed nine-year sentences, while the third received four years. All three will serve their sentences in a general regime colony.
