1814Fifteen children who were left without parental care in Russia have been safely repatriated to Uzbekistan, the "Dunyo" news agency reported.
A working group from Uzbekistan spent two weeks in various regions of Russia gathering necessary documents to facilitate the children’s return.
Initially, the children were housed in a social rehabilitation center for minors in Moscow, where they received essential social and medical assistance. Following the completion of the necessary procedures, they were returned to Uzbekistan.
“We accepted the children for repatriation to Uzbekistan. During their stay in the center, they were provided with full social and medical care,” said Odil Zokirov, head of the Central Family Education Assistance Center in Moscow.
The Uzbek embassy expedited the process by issuing return certificates for the children at no cost.
Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, the children will either be placed under the guardianship of close relatives or taken into special children’s institutions for further care and support.
This is not the first instance of such repatriation efforts. Uzbekistan has previously undertaken similar initiatives to bring back children left without parental care in Russia.
