On September 24, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported that five citizens of Uzbekistan were detained in St. Petersburg, Russia.
According to the report, the detainees, aged between 22 and 40, were taken into custody as suspects in a mass brawl that occurred in the Grechesky residential area.
The fight broke out during the night of September 20 inside a store. The dispute was linked to a female shop assistant, also an Uzbek national, who was later found to have violated migration laws.
The victim of the incident was also a citizen of Uzbekistan. After being beaten, he sought help from law enforcement authorities. Medical staff provided him with assistance and discharged him for home treatment.
A video recording from the scene, showing a group of people beating a man lying on the ground, has circulated on social media.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Russian law enforcement officers raided a concert of Uzbek singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev at the ’’Korona’’ banquet hall in the Yemelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk region, where they conducted checks on migrants. During the inspection, eight citizens of Uzbekistan were found to have violated the rules of stay in Russia.
