Every sixth worker in Russian construction companies is a foreign citizen. This was announced on June 26 by Anton Glushkov, President of the National Builders Association, during the Harakat Real Estate Forum in Sochi.

According to him, 6.7 million foreign citizens are currently working in Russia, with the majority coming from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Every sixth employee in construction organizations is a migrant worker.

Glushkov noted that last year saw a record increase in the number of migrants from neighboring countries. While 3.5 million people left Russia, more than 4 million arrived. The net growth of 500,000 is the highest in the past decade.

He also emphasized that the number of migrants remains steady, despite record-low unemployment in Russia over the past two years.

For reference, the Harakat Real Estate Forum is being held in Sochi from June 24 to 27, 2025. Since 2020, this annual event has brought together builders and developers, serving as a key platform for industry dialogue, experience sharing, and business development.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that approximately 6.3 million migrants are expected to visit Russia in 2024, including around 1.5 million citizens of Uzbekistan. The majority of foreign nationals are from Uzbekistan (23.3%), followed by Tajikistan (16.7%), Kyrgyzstan (10.4%), and Belarus (9.5%).
