In Uzbekistan, if a citizen voluntarily pays 50% of the amount of a fine within 15 days, and 70% within 30 days from the date of the offender incurring the fine, he will be exempt from paying the remainder.  This is provided for in the law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 18 April.

According to the amendment to Article 332-1 of the Code, if the offender voluntarily pays 50% of the fine or 70% of the fine within 15 days from the date that the fine was imposed, he will be released from the fine.

The simplified procedure for the execution of the decision on the imposition of a fine is in the following cases:

•    In the event of the offenses provided for in Articles 131, 132, 136 and 140 of the Code;

•    When the decision to impose a fine is appealed or protested;

•    The same offense shall not be applied if it is repeated within 1 year after the application of the administrative penalty.

This law will come into force on 1 May of this year.
