Officially: The requirement of 2 years of work experience to become a lawyer has been abolished

No additional work experience is required to become a lawyer in Uzbekistan.  This is stipulated in the law “On Amendments to Article 3-1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Advocacy” signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today, August 9.

According to the amendment, in order to obtain a license, a person wishing to become a lawyer must undergo an internship for at least 3 months in a legal structure (law office, law firm, bar association, legal consultancy) and must pass a qualification exam.  Will be

The law shall enter into force from the date of its official announcement.
