On February 11, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Russian delegation led by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. The meeting, reported by the Uzbek presidential press service, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

At the beginning of the discussions, Maxim Oreshkin conveyed greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Mirziyoyev. The parties reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2023, as well as other high-level dialogues under the framework of an approved "road map" for cooperation.

During the meeting, special attention was given to maintaining the pace of trade and economic collaboration between the two countries. The discussion also covered industrial cooperation, the expansion of e-commerce projects, and further efforts in water management. The two sides explored opportunities to strengthen ties in higher education, engineering training, and artificial intelligence development. In addition, cultural exchange and sports partnerships were highlighted as key areas for further cooperation.

It is worth noting that on January 22, President Mirziyoyev also met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who visited Uzbekistan to discuss defense and security cooperation. This latest meeting with Maxim Oreshkin signals the continued commitment of Russia and Uzbekistan to deepening their strategic and economic relations across multiple sectors.
