Russian President Vladimir Putin promised that the country's government will use all available resources to ensure decent working conditions for citizens of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation. He informed journalists of this today, May 27, after negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
"More than a million citizens of Uzbekistan live and work in Russia. We highly appreciate their significant contribution to the development of the Russian economy, especially in rapidly developing sectors such as construction, housing and communal services, transport, and logistics," Putin said.
He also expressed hope that remittances from citizens of Uzbekistan to their homeland will significantly aid the economy of Uzbekistan and support families in different regions of the country.
"The Russian government is doing and will do everything necessary to ensure decent working conditions and social protection for the citizens of Uzbekistan working with us. We will continue to cooperate with the government of Uzbekistan on all urgent issues in the field of migration," said the President of Russia.
He added that cooperation on this issue will be strengthened on both sides.
