Putin celebrates New Year with messages to Mirziyoyev and friendly leaders

2169Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended New Year’s greetings to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and several other state leaders, according to the Kremlin press service.
“Vladimir Putin sincerely congratulated the leaders of several states on the occasion of Christmas and the upcoming 2025,” the statement read.
The congratulatory messages were sent to leaders across Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey, China, and other nations.
Additionally, Putin sent telegrams to former heads of state and government, including Raul Castro, Robert Kocharyan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Serzh Sargsyan, and Gerhard Schröder. However, he did not extend New Year’s greetings to US President Joe Biden or leaders of other “unfriendly states.” Among European leaders, only Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received congratulations.
