President congratulates winners of the 5th Asian Para Games

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated Uzbek para-athletes who claimed victory at the 5th Asian Para Games, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from December 7 to 14, 2025.
According to reports, competitions involving more than 1,500 athletes from 35 Asian countries saw Uzbek athletes demonstrate courage and resilience, emerging as true heroes of the Games and opening another bright chapter in the history of Uzbekistan’s Paralympic movement.
The President noted that Uzbek para-athletes secured a total of 99 gold, 57 silver, and 41 bronze medals, finishing first overall in the Asian continental rankings.
“During the tournament, the national anthem of Uzbekistan was played nearly 100 times, clearly reflecting the invaluable contribution you have made to glorifying our country on the world stage. Through your great determination, unbreakable will, and perseverance, you managed to outperform teams from nations such as Iran, Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia, where national sports are developing rapidly.
Never before in the history of the Asian Para Games has Uzbekistan achieved such a record-breaking result or such a great triumph. Without a doubt, you are worthy of the highest praise and admiration as young people and skilled professionals who are creating a glorious history and strong traditions in our nation’s sport.
Our entire people and our beloved homeland are proud of you. You are the golden generation and the golden representatives of Uzbekistan’s Paralympic movement.
Glory and honor to such heroic young people,” Mirziyoyev said.
It was also emphasized that para powerlifting athletes Bahriddin Kholbutayev, Elbek Farhodov, Oyshajon Rajabboeva, and Rukhshona Uktamova set world records in their respective weight categories. Meanwhile, Nurillo Inobiddinov, E’zoza Abdujabborova, Azizbek Perdebaev, Rukhshona Uktamova, Ziyodakhon Bokijonova, Zuhra Yuldasheva, and Gulyuz Nematullaeva established new Asian records.
Another historic achievement was recorded by female athletes Madina Mukhtarova, Farogat Muhammadqulova, and Mohichehra Ibragimova, who won the full set of medals for Uzbekistan in shot put and javelin throw events in para athletics.
“All of this is the result of your tireless work, unbreakable will, talent, and skill, as well as the systematic efforts being carried out in our country to ensure human dignity in practice. The great victory you achieved once again clearly demonstrates what heights the youth of New Uzbekistan are capable of reaching. Undoubtedly, this triumph will serve as a source of pride, inspiration, aspiration, and a valuable school of experience for thousands of young people.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to your parents who raised you to be such brave and courageous children, to your dedicated and professional coaches, and to all your supporters,” the President said.
According to the report, a special decision has recently been adopted in the country to further develop the Paralympic movement. In recent years, the National Agency for Social Protection has been established, along with a separate Adaptive Sports Association. In addition, the Matonat School and an institute for training specialists in this field have been launched.
As a result, the number of adaptive sports disciplines has reached 89, while the number of people regularly engaged in these sports in local communities across the country has exceeded 45,000.
Reforms aimed at building an inclusive society in Uzbekistan and ensuring the social integration of persons with disabilities will continue consistently.
“Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on your historic victory at the Asian Para Games, achieved through your deep love and devotion to the Motherland, strong will, and resilience, setting an example for millions of our people. I wish all of you good health and great success and victories in your future endeavors,” President Mirziyoyev said in conclusion of his message.
