President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. The President’s congratulatory message was released by his press service.

“I am very pleased to sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, all our Muslim compatriots, and our entire nation on the great and sacred holiday of Eid al-Adha, and to express my deep respect and best wishes.

First and foremost, we express our immense gratitude to the merciful and powerful Allah Almighty for allowing us to welcome this glorious holiday, so dear to the entire Islamic world, together with our people and country in a peaceful and serene atmosphere,” the President’s message reads.

The statement highlights that in recent years, the holy religion of Islam and its significant holiday, Eid al-Adha, have played an important role in shaping a socially oriented people’s state in Uzbekistan. It has helped strengthen the nation’s spiritual foundations and expand its positive influence. The values embodied in this holiday—such as humanity, harmony, generosity, and nobility—are deeply aligned with the wide-ranging reforms underway in the country, guided by the noble principle: “For human dignity, for human happiness.” These values support vulnerable segments of society, promote care for the elderly, youth, and women, and increase the impact of poverty-reduction programs.

“Today, our country is undertaking great efforts to strengthen harmony among various nationalities and religious denominations, to ensure freedom of conscience, to preserve our religious and educational heritage, and to raise the younger generation in the spirit of national and universal values.

In this regard, particular attention is given to the thorough study of Islam’s noble principles, as well as the collection and wide dissemination of the masterpieces of our great history, culture, and the rich legacy of our renowned scholars. For instance, the ancient marvel of the East—Samarkand—has been named the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2025. The 1,155th anniversary of the birth of our eminent compatriot, Imam Moturidi, is being widely celebrated across the country. Additionally, the Imam Bukhari, Imam Moturidi, and Imam Termizi international research centers have been established. This year, the Bahauddin Naqshband Scientific and Research Center will also begin operations in Bukhara,” the congratulatory message noted.

The statement also mentions the Center for Islamic Civilization, currently under construction in Tashkent. This significant scientific and spiritual project is attracting growing interest both domestically and internationally. The President expressed confidence that this monumental site will become a landmark of the “New Uzbekistan,” symbolizing the nation’s ancient history and rich cultural heritage.

“In these blessed days, 15,000 of our compatriots are performing the holy pilgrimage. In these sacred moments, filled with noble prayers and heartfelt intentions, we sincerely congratulate them on Eid al-Adha and ask the Almighty for their safe return home.

We hope that our esteemed pilgrims will help strengthen the unity of our society, nurture kindness within families and communities, encourage youth toward education and enlightenment, promote modern professions, defend the Motherland, and assist those in need.

As our hearts overflow with joy during these blessed days, we also extend sincere congratulations to our compatriots abroad and wish them health, safety, happiness, and success.

We warmly congratulate the Muslim communities across the globe—both near and far—and wish their people and countries peace, prosperity, and well-being,” said President Mirziyoyev.

The President also reflected on the growing complexity and danger of today’s global landscape. He expressed confidence that despite such challenges, Uzbekistan will continue to achieve its ambitious goals through peace, mutual respect, harmony, and tireless dedication across all sectors.

“Of course, our brave and noble people, who have endured many trials and hardships throughout history, are fully capable of achieving this.

I believe that on this path, the compassion, unity, and solidarity inherent in our people and country will serve as an unparalleled source of strength and resilience.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, on the sacred Eid al-Adha and wish you all peace and serenity, good health, and prosperity in your homes.

May this holiday be a blessed one for us all!” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded.

For reference, Eid al-Adha will be observed on June 6. On this occasion, Eid prayers are expected to take place in 122 mosques across the capital. To ensure these gatherings are conducted smoothly, with appropriate safety measures in place, several streets and roads in Tashkent will be temporarily closed from 00:00 to 08:00 on June 6.
