President lays flowers at the Independence Monument

Today, on August 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the foot of the Independence Monument in connection with the Day of Commemoration of the Victims of Repression. This was reported by the President's press service.

It is noted that the Independence Monument is a symbol of Uzbekistan's freedom and stability. It reflects the nation's centuries-old statehood history, featuring figures of great scholars and world-renowned ancestors. The Humo bird is depicted at the top of the monument.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Yangi Uzbekistan" park and laid a wreath at the base of this complex.

Representatives of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, ministries and agencies, and the public of Tashkent also participated in the ceremony and laid flowers at the base of the monument.

"This is one of the festive events dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence," the report states.

It should be noted that earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Alley of Martyrs' Memory.
